KENNETH D. ALSTON, JR (Counter Tenor)
Kenneth is a native of the Bronx, NY and a graduate of the famed Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art & Performing Arts. He is a senior vocal music performance major at Morgan State University in the studio of Mrs. Betty M. Ridgeway, and will complete his Bachelor's of Art in Vocal Music Performance (Counter-tenor/Tenor) on May 21, 2006. As a member of the world renowned Morgan State University Choir, he has traveled and performed for audiences in Germany, Switzerland, Osaka, Japan, Prague, Czech Republic, and Martinique. Kenneth is a charter member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc., (Pi Eta Chapter) the world’s largest men's music fraternity, at Morgan State University. Heis a member of the Soulful Symphony under the direction of Mr. Darin Atwater. He has performed with Baltimore’s Arts Centric Theater Company, and with the Philadelphia Opera in Porgy and Bess and Giancarlo Menotti’s The Medium. Kenneth has performed on such recordings as Live @ The Boulevard, Mississippi Blvd. Christian Church of Memphis, All Rise, by Winton Marsalis, as a featured soloist on an episode of the HBO original series The Wire and was asked to sing at the 2004 Republican National Convention and at the National Rotunda, at the historic lying in state of Rosa "The Mother of Civil Rights" Parks. Kenneth proudly attends the Douglas Memorial Community Church in Baltimore.
